Canada's Clinical Trials
MediStudy.com is all about informed decision making. Canadians want to be partners in their own health care. To do that they need reliable information and they need it presented in a way that truly informs them about their options and about questions to ask their doctors. On the MediStudy.com Website, patients and caregivers can search a database of clinical trials being conducted in Canada privately and discreetly, without leaving personal information.

Of particular interest to nuclear medicine physicians is the comprehensive description of the RCPSC MOCOMP© program. The RCPSC intends to make re-certification for all specialists mandatory and demonstrated participation in learning activities must become part of all of our lives.

The Canadian Medical Association
This site is the place to visit to find a comprehensive listing of clinical practice guidelines. This indexed and referenced resource provides valuable information to the clinician. The access to an excellent Med-line search engine "Osler", available only to CMA members is well worth the price of CMA membership.

Western Canada Waiting List Project
The WCWL Project was created in 1998 in response to a major study sponsored by Health Canada that concluded: there is little or no standardization of waiting list data; regional health authorities and hospitals acknowledge they lack comprehensive information on the status of waiting lists; and there is widespread interest in standardizing and coordinating waiting lists for selected interventions.

The Western Canada Waiting List Project is a consortium of four medical associations, seven regional health authorities, the four western provincial ministries of health and four health research centres. Funding for the project is from Health Canada's Health Transition Fund.

The WCWL released an interim report describing progress to date on the development of criteria (tools) for prioritizing patients awaiting specified elective clinical and diagnostic procedures:
